"Fashion 21" now known as Forever 21 was founded by Dong-Won Chang and his wife Jin Sook Chang who immigrated from South Korea in 1984. The first store opened on April 21, 1984 located on Figuera St. in the Highland Park District of Los Angeles. By the end of their first year in bussiness sales had risen from 35,000 to 700,000. Fashion 21 expanded and became Forever 21. There are many different formats of forever 21; Forever 21 (The original department store), XXI Forever( carries merchandise from all formats of the stores), Heritage1981(Vintage clothing), For Love21(accesory store), Forever 21+(plus sizes), Love21(line for women), Forever 21 Twist(a new limited edition collecttion launching a new line every 4-6 weeks), Forever 21 girls(for kids) 21Men(men clothing). There has been about 500 stores opened worldwide!
